Psyche and Eros

普绪克与厄洛斯

Psyche was a woman of extreme beauty and grace, so beautiful that the whole world rushed to see her. Goddess Aphrodite became so jealous of her, that she told her son, Eros (or Cupid) to poison the souls of men who desired her, but he ended up falling in love with her too.

普绪克是世界上最美丽优雅的女人，以至于所有人都蜂拥而至只为一睹芳容。女神阿芙洛狄忒对此十分嫉妒，她唆使自己的儿子厄洛斯（又称丘比特）毒杀所有倾慕于普绪克的男人，但厄洛斯自己却也同样爱上了她。

Despite Psyche’s beauty and all the men who wanted to marry her, she loved none of them and stayed unmarried, waiting for the right man to love. But while her two beautiful sisters had managed to marry and not her, her father thought it might be a sign of the Gods’ wrath and became so desperate that he consulted the oracle of Apollo.
