外媒争着报道这件大事儿,他们到底怎么看?

《纽约时报》驳斥了“中国是‘一带一路’唯一受益者”的说法,并拿通用电气举例称,2014年其接到中国的设备订单总值为4亿美元,但在中国开始“一带一路”倡议之后,去年的订单数字达到23亿美元。


不少西方企业也看好“一带一路”倡议前景,积极加入“一带一路”倡议中。


Some non-Chinese companies are also tweaking their businesses to win more orders related to Beijing’s plan, and G.E. has rearranged its marketing staff for global power equipment to give them priority.

一些外国企业也调整自己的战略,争取与中国“一带一路”倡议相关的订单。美国通用电气公司在其全球能源设备增加营销人员,以提升竞争力。


文章也肯定了 “一带一路” 推动全球基础设施的巨大潜力:


If enacted as planned, the initiative could lead to a global building spree; China has promised more than $1 trillion of investment over the long term.

如果按计划进行,“一带一路”倡议将会掀起全球建设热潮,中国承诺将在长期内投资超过1万亿美元。

它引用了前外交部副部长何亚飞的话:


It is not a solo song but a chorus.

“一带一路”是大合唱,不是中国的独唱。


新华社的报道:


[It is] a Chinese solution to global economic blues.

“一带一路”是世界经济蓝调的中国方案。


以及外交部长王毅的提法:


symphony of all relevant parties

“一带一路”是各国共同参与的交响乐。


然后又用自己的话解释了一番:


In concrete terms, the Belt and Road initiative is an immensely ambitious development campaign through which China wants to boost trade and stimulate economic growth across Asia and beyond. It hopes to do so by building massive amounts of infrastructure connecting it to countries around the globe.

具体来说,“一带一路”倡议是一项雄心壮志的发展计划,中国希望以此推动亚洲等地的贸易,并拉动经济增长。主要做法是在全球建设大量互联互通的基础设施。


那么“带”和“路”又分别指什么呢?


The Belt and Road initiative has two main prongs: one is called the "Silk Road Economic Belt" (the belt) and the other the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" (the road).
