16 两支派的人挨近摩西，说，我们要在这里为牲畜垒圈，为妇人孩子造城。

Then they came up to him and said, 'We would like to build pens here for our livestock and cities for our women and children.

17 我们自己要带兵器行在以色列人的前头，好把他们领到他们的地方。但我们的妇人孩子，因这地居民的缘故，要住在坚固的城内。

But we are ready to arm ourselves and go ahead of the Israelites until we have brought them to their place. Meanwhile our women and children will live in fortified cities, for protection from the inhabitants of the land.

18 我们不回家，直等到以色列人各承受自己的产业。

We will not return to our homes until every Israelite has received his inheritance.
