Since taking the leadership role at ESL, Epson’s strategic manufacturing hub in Shenzhen, in April 2023, Uchida has launched "ESL Vision 30," a long-term strategy to evolve the company into a technology-driven enterprise w ith initiatives like solar energy adoption and environmental innovation .

Uchida also plays a key role as president of the local Japanese Chamber of Commerce, fostering cross-border business collaboration.

Engineer and maker culture advocate Masakazu Takasu of Switch Science has witnessed Shenzhen’s leap from low-cost production hub to innovation powerhouse. Engaged with local startups and tech communities, Takasu praises the city's ability to translate concepts into real-world applications.
