The Abundance of Less (TAOL)?
TAOL is a book written by Andy Couturier, an American writer, that discusses the life and teachings of ten Japanese individuals, whose way of life points humanity in a direction of greater sustainability and satisfaction
Deeply inspired by Andy, GreenI nitiatives is keen on sharing Andy’s message with the wider community and has initiated a 2-month crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to cover the trip expenses towards bringing Andy and his partner, to China in June 2018. The project will comprise of a number of workshops, talks and book reading sessions with various communities in Shanghai, Beijing and Suzhou, and perhaps in other Chinese cities, funds permitting.
China is undergoing massive urbanization, there is a growing consumption amongst the masses, as can be seen by Alibaba’s Singles’ Day (11.11) sales and there is an increasing percentage of rural-to-urban human migration. These are just a few reasons why we believe that Andy’s message is extremely relevant in this context, not just for China, but for global citizens based in China as well.
