3 月 18 日，美国副总统万斯在美国活力峰会上做了一个时长约 24 分钟的演讲。我认为，这个演讲非常重要，其重要性丝毫不亚于他一个月前在慕尼黑安全会议上的讲话。只是，国际社会似乎对此重视不够，中文媒体更是鲜有报道。为此，我们将在多篇文章中予以介绍和点评。今天，我们就只说万斯演讲中提及的一个故事：

I think the populists, when they look at the future, and when they compare it to what's happened in the past, I think a lot of them see alienation of workers from their jobs, from their communities, from their sense of solidarity. You see the alienation of people from their sense of purpose.
