The hotel's exterior spaces were collaboratively designed by Andre Fu and Kyoto's garden master, Shunsaku Miyagi. Centered around a central cherry blossom garden, this tree becomes the visual focal point of the entire design, perfectly embodying Japan's traditional concept of "symbiosis between architecture and garden," achieving absolute harmony between the two. Carefully arranged stone lanterns and decorative rocks, along with the lobby lounge, indoor garden, and water features, blend harmoniously to form a complete landscape system.
作为土生土长的京都人,宫城俊作认为这座酒店凝聚着京都的城市精髓,并以人性化的尺度重现了京都的城市风貌。设计团队将日本传统建筑理念进行创新演绎,一反平安时代宫殿“漂浮湖上”的常规手法,转而让花园成为核心,建筑则成为环绕元素,为宾客创造能够体验当代京都意境的独特空间。
As a native of Kyoto, Shunsaku Miyagi believes that the hotel encapsulates the city's essence and reimagines its urban landscape on a human scale. The design team innovatively reinterprets traditional Japanese architectural concepts, deviating from the conventional Heian-era palace style of "floating on a lake" to instead make the garden the core element, with the building as the surrounding element, creating a unique space for guests to experience contemporary Kyoto's ambiance.
宾客步入葱郁的竹林小径,再穿过花园旁的隧道式走廊,其设计灵感源自伏见稻荷大社的千本鸟居,以现代设计语言致敬传统建筑形式。最终抵达大堂空间,落地窗外传统庭院中的樱花树构成优美框景。
Guests walk through a lush bamboo grove path and then a tunnel-like corridor beside the garden, inspired by the Thousand Torii Gates of Fushimi Inari Taisha, paying homage to traditional architectural forms with a modern design language. They finally arrive at the lobby space, where the cherry tree in the traditional courtyard outside the floor-to-ceiling windows forms a beautiful framed view.
大堂内棱角分明的木条墙面以抽象手法演绎竹林意象,既是对日式传统竹篱概念的现代诠释,也形成兼具精神性与实用功能的视觉屏障。在双层挑高的休息区内,天花板上方悬挂的手绘图案装置宛如流动的和服面料,与室外花园的水元素相呼应,与一旁整块石材雕刻的开放式壁炉相得益彰,共同营造出温馨宜人的社交空间。
The lobby features angular wooden slat walls that abstractly interpret the bamboo forest imagery, serving as both a modern reinterpretation of the traditional Japanese bamboo fence concept and a visually striking yet functional screen. In the double-height lounge area, a hand-painted installation suspended from the ceiling resembles flowing kimono fabric, echoing the water elements of the outdoor garden and complementing the open stone fireplace carved from a single block of stone, together creating a warm and inviting social space.

The hotel has three specialty restaurants with different styles. TOKI restaurant presents Japanese-French fusion cuisine with innovative methods. Its signature teppanyaki uses high-quality Japanese ingredients and French cooking techniques. The long stainless steel iron plate perfectly inherits the essence of traditional teppanyaki. FORNI, an Italian restaurant, focuses on authentic Italian flavors, and the special wood-fired oven bakes pizza to create a relaxed and pleasant dining atmosphere.
