Finn Juhl
Finn Juhl’s house exemplifies his “inside-out” design logic. He began with the furniture and interior functionality, shaping the building’s exterior around these elements. Comprising two connected buildings joined by a hallway with its own entry, the home’s open floor plan reflects the mid-20th-century shift in Danish architecture toward open and fluid spaces. This approach laid the groundwork for modern home design.

Inside, Finn Juhl emphasized the interplay of light, color, and material. For him, a building was not just a structure but a container that harmonized with its furniture and art. This holistic perspective elevated the house into a paradigm of modernist design. The interiors of the house are adorned with Finn Juhl’s iconic furniture pieces, which fuse functionality with sculptural artistry. Each piece exemplifies his belief in the emotional and visual power of design.
