Industry Practice / Case Study Papers
SOSE 2021 encourages papers reporting on industrial practice, case studies, empirical research and practical experiences in service engineering. Industry papers and case studies should be between 6-10 pages in length. The topics include, but are not limited to the following:
Survey And Emerging Subjects Tutorial Papers
In addition to regular research paper and industry practice/case study papers, SOSE 2021 will also invite some tutorial papers, which review the state-of-the-art of the research on services engineering as well as the related emerging paradigms and technologies. These papers should summarize the recent research advance in service engineering from different perspectives, identify the open issues and future trends and challenges in the field. SOSE 2021 also encourages vision papers which discuss future and emerging issues, including emerging paradigms, technologies and applications. Papers should be no more than 10 pages in length. The topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
Work In Progress Papers
As the field covered by SOSE develops rapidly it is always useful to provide authors with an opportunity to present early ideas to the community and obtain feedback and guidance on direction. To enable this dimension we are inviting work in progress paper submissions not exceeding 4 pages in length and cognate with any of the topics mentioned above. The title in the submission for review should be prefaced with “WIP” to aid reviewers.
PhD Symposium
A PhD symposium track will accept submissions authored primarily by PhD students and the first author will need to be a registered PhD student. This track accepts papers in areas as listed above and allows submission of papers of up to 6 page length. Preface the title with "PhD” in submissions.
Committees
General Chairs
Guido Wirtz , University of Bamberg, Germany
Stephan Reiff-Marganiec, School of Electronics, Computing and Maths, University of Derby, UK
Program Chairs
Zhongjie Wang, Harbin Institute of Technology China
Guadalupe Ortiz Bellot, Universidad de Cádiz, Spain
Local Organizing Chair
Hong Zhu, Oxford Brookes University, UK
Publication
All submission will be reviewed by members of the conference program committee considering the criteria of novelty, significance of the contribution, technical soundness, maturity of the work, and presentation quality. The WIP and PhD Symposium track will apply criteria that consider the special nature of the papers in those tracks. Once accepted, at least one author is required to register for the conference and present the paper at the conference in person. The paper will be included into the IEEE conference proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press (indexed by EI) and included in IEEE Computer Society Digital Library.
Venue
The conference will be held online.
