The main emphasis of VSI is on the dissemination of leading-edge research outcomes from science to the development of new processes, technologies and applications. This includes CO2 as a feedstock in the chemical, energy and materials sectors, and utilization in general to help minimize environmental impacts.

The purpose of VSI is to publish the state-of-art researches in the field of carbon capture and utilization through chemical/environmental processes. The topics for VSI include, but not limited to:

Catalytic conversions of CO2 or/and biomass feedstocks into value-added chemicals

(Photo)electrochemical conversions of the carbon-based materials

Materials for adsorption, separation, and sequestration of carbon-containing greenhouse gases (i.e., CO2)

Synthesis of various chemicals from CO2

Production of value-added carbon-based chemicals from non-fossil resources

Development of energy efficient and environmentally benign processes for production of value-added carbon-based chemicals using fossil resources

Chemical/fuel conversion from microalgae
